Yes, Pride Shabbat is nigh upon us, and anyone who will be in the New York vicinity is encouraged to join CBST for both Friday night and Saturday morning services, after which we’ll have a lovely kiddush, which will no doubt be sponsored by half the congregation.

That evening, the female-identified members of the 20′s/30′s group (which includes anyone who is, was, or will ever be female-identified and/or in their 20′s/30′s) will be meeting up at 5pm for the Dyke March (meet at the main branch of the Library, at the left-hand lion!). This will be Marisa’s First Dyke March, so I’ll be saying a shehecheyanu, although I’m pretty sure my mom won’t be putting it in my baby book.

On Sunday, of course, is the main event, the New York Pride March. Now, however you feel about parades in general, or this one specifically, I think it is pretty cool that this year Rabbi Kleinbaum is one of the Grand Marshals, and that CBST will be sharing the first float to roll down 5th Avenue at noon. (directly behind Dykes on Bikes, which gives me a lovely view!) So put on some sunscreen and your rainbow finest and come on down.
