Obviously, I’m not alone in mourning the end of the HBO Series, The Wire. While new to the amazingness that is The Wire, I have tremendously enjoyed this last season.
While I got a good laugh listening to Levy welcome, I think it was Hauk, (forgive me I’m still learning all the names) into his mishpacha (family) in this last episode, one of the best goodbyes I’ve heard thus far is Orlando Campbell’s reflection on Youth Radio about The Wire being the first show that offers an unflinching portrayal, without all the stereotypes and one-dimensional elements often given, about “the inner workings of a city on the decline”–a life he knows all too well.
